As Marcus runs to safety, a government task force emerge from the shadows and open fire, blowing Jason away. Suddenly, several bright lights come on, temporarily blinding Jason. A novel entitled Friday the 13th: Jason's Revenge explains what occurred in the six-moth interim between FVJ and this film. The film also features a character who first appeared in Halloween 5, establishing further continuity.
